Anies Baswedan Invites Students to Get Involved in Planting Rice Next Month

 

The Governor Wants Schools to Utilizese the Existence of Rice Fields in Jakarta as a Means for Learning


Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan on Tuesday (23/1/2018) conducted rice harvest in agricultural area which is situated on East Side Canal Road of East Flood Canal, Cakung District, East Jakarta.


As we know, DKI Jakarta apparently still possesses about 300 hectares of rice fields.

Regarding to it, with the extent of rice fields in Jakarta, the Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan expects to utilize the existing land as part of the learning process of students.

Together with the Office of Food Security, Marine and Agriculture (DKPKP), Anies said that he would soon coordinate with the school principals to be able to come to the location of agricultural areas scattered in several locations.

At that chance, the Governor said that he would also immediately give instructions to schools related to this besides expecting the rice fields to be not only used as food land, but also used as a means of learning agriculture in Jakarta.

According to the governor, starting next month, DKI would plant and give the schools a chance to invite their students to plant rice together there, and also at the harvest time which is predicted to occur in May.
