OK OTrip program launched by Jakarta Local Government (Pemprov DKI Jakarta) evidently helps boost 30 per cent of its number of passengers after being tested for Mikrolet 03 route Kampung Melayu - Duren Sawit.

Citing from beritajakarta.id, one of the drivers named Untung Sriyono confessed the number of his passengers has increased thanks to this program. According to him, his previous number of passengers in 4 trips was only about 70 passengers and now becomes 100 passengers.

"After OK OTrip program, the number of passengers has increased to 30 per cent. Even, on weekends, the number has increased to 50 per cent. The passengers utilize this OK OTrip program,"said Untung last Thursday.

Meanwhile, the Head of Budi Luhur Cooperative as the operator of OK OTrip 2, Saut Hutabarat told that the review result in the first two weeks has shown the increase of the number of passengers. He also added many passengers have requested the number of the units to be increased.

"OK OTrip 2 currently operates 15 units and we would add 4 more units equipped with AC soon,”Saut added.

Regarding to, the Deputy Governor of DKI Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno told media that OK OTrip program to be applied on city transportation (locally called as angkot) which possesses route to Tanah Abang.

The Deputy Governor said this after holding a meeting with several representatives of the entrepreneurs and angkot drivers of Tanah Abang (JP03, JP03A, M08 and M10) at the City Hall, Central Jakarta last Friday.

The meeting also achieved a deal about the scheme of angkots which pass by Jatibaru street where they are now allowed to operate unless during 08:00 am to 03:00 pm while Transjakarta Tanah Abang Explorer operates.

This deal is expected to return the fairness among the entrepreneurs and the drivers as well as expecting the OK OTrip program possible to give all parties joy and welfare.
